Después de muchas expectativas y con una pandemia que ha obligado a hacer ciertos cambios en su logística, la Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas ha anunciado la lista completa de los nominados al Oscar 2022 este día durante una transmisión en vivo conducida por los actores Tracee Ellis Ross y Leslie Jordan.
Al igual que muchos otros aspectos de la industria del entretenimiento este año pasado, los Premios de la Academia se vieron afectados por la pandemia de coronavirus.
La ceremonia, que solía celebrarse en febrero, por segundo año tiene una fecha diferente, siendo que se retrasará hasta finales de marzo, lo que podría indicar que conservará esta nueva fecha para considerar un año de convocatoria para la inscripción de cada una de las películas.
Debido al retraso, el periodo de elegibilidad para los Oscar 2022 se amplió, lo que significa que las películas estrenadas a finales de 2021 sí fueron consideradas para el galardón, incluyendo algunas producciones que llegaron sólo a las plataformas de streaming, una nueva consideración aceptada ante la situación mundial.
